Peabody, MA – December 18, 2024 – Sandmagination, an innovative children’s indoor play space, is excited to announce its upcoming opening at North Shore Mall in Peabody, MA. Sandmagination will feature New England’s largest indoor sandbox, offering a safe, sensory-rich environment for children aged 10 and under.
Designed by parents for families, Sandmagination provides a year-round space where kids can explore, create, and learn through interactive sand play. The facility will offer STEAM-based activities, promoting cognitive development and creativity. With multiple sandboxes, sensory elements, and fully accessible play areas, Sandmagination is designed for children of all abilities.

Katerina Krumova, PhD – Co-Founder & CEO
Katerina’s passion for education and science drives the innovative approach behind Sandmagination. With a PhD in Chemistry from McGill University and a distinguished career in teaching at both the high school and college levels, Katerina has spent years nurturing young minds. Her expertise in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) education enables her to bring an enriching, hands-on learning experience to the play environment at Sandmagination.
As CEO, Katerina leads the strategic vision of the company, ensuring that all aspects of the business reflect her commitment to fostering creativity, development, and inclusivity. She oversees business development, customer experience, and safety protocols, ensuring a safe, fun, and educational space for children. Katerina’s belief in the power of sensory play as a tool for both learning and therapeutic development has been central to the Sandmagination concept.
Jason Stadtlander – Co-Founder & COO
Jason brings over two decades of experience in cybersecurity and premises safety to his role as COO at Sandmagination. His extensive background in ensuring operational safety, both in physical spaces and technology systems, makes him well-equipped to handle the day-to-day operations of the business. Jason has spent the last 20 years managing systems integration and technology solutions, which directly benefit Sandmagination’s customer engagement systems and operational efficiency.
In his role, Jason manages everything from the facility’s technology infrastructure to customer safety and smooth business operations. He is dedicated to creating a seamless and secure experience for families, focusing on systems that promote both safety and convenience. Jason’s passion for building a space that blends fun with security drives his operational strategies, ensuring that every child and family feels safe and engaged at Sandmagination.
