Our Sand
The sand we use is one of the most essential elements in our play space. Sourced sustainably from the Bahamas, it’s made of oolitic aragonite, a renewable resource that forms naturally during “whiting” events. In these events, blooms of cyanobacteria capture carbon from the atmosphere, initiating a mineralization process that creates oolitic aragonite.
Daily Sanitization Proceedures
Ensuring a clean, safe, and hygienic environment is essential to the well-being of both children and families at Sandmagination. Our daily sanitization protocols are designed to exceed industry standards, giving parents peace of mind and creating a healthy space for children to play.
We uphold these standards by:
- Sifting and cleaning the sand to remove any debris or foreign objects
- Disinfecting all surfaces, including toys, bins, and play equipment, multiple times daily with a non-toxic, eco-friendly solution
- Conducting regular deep cleanings of all play areas, thoroughly sanitizing the entire facility, from sandboxes to air filtration systems

We’ve equipped our facility with high-efficiency HEPA air filtration systems that capture up to 99.97% of airborne particles, including dust, allergens, bacteria, and viruses. These filters trap particles as small as 0.3 microns, enhancing indoor air quality, minimizing airborne contaminants, and helping to keep sand dust down in play areas.
Our system is designed for continuous air circulation, ensuring a steady flow of fresh air throughout the facility. This approach not only reduces particles in the air, including sand dust, but also keeps the temperature comfortable for children and families, creating a pleasant environment year-round.
