Introducing the Aspire Meetup Group: A Supportive Space for Early Intervention Families

Introducing the Aspire Meetup Group: Did you know 1 in 6 children experiences developmental delays? If you’re navigating Early Intervention, you might often wonder, “Am I doing enough?” or “Does anyone else feel this way?” At Sandmagination, we get it—and we want you to know: You are not alone.

That’s why we created the Aspire Meetup Group, a safe, welcoming space where families in Aspire Developmental’s Early Intervention program can connect, play, and grow—without pressure or judgment.

What Is the Aspire Meetup Group?

In short, it’s a private meetup group for families receiving Early Intervention services through Aspire. We host it right here at Sandmagination, our indoor sandbox play space in Peabody, MA. It’s designed with your child’s developmental needs in mind and with you, the caregiver, at the heart of the experience.

This group is by invitation only, and you’ll need an access code to attend (just ask your Aspire provider). This helps us make sure the space stays small, supportive, and secure—just the way families like it.

Why We Created This Group

Being part of Early Intervention can be a game-changer—but it can also feel like a lot. Between appointments, paperwork, and navigating new routines, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

We saw a need for something more:
✓ A space where parents could connect, share, or even just get a breather.
✓ A place where kids could play freely, explore at their own pace, and just be themselves.
✓ And most of all, a community that makes you feel like you belong.

As one parent shared, “This group saved my sanity! Finally, a place where my child and I both feel welcome.” — Sarah, mom of 2-year-old Lucas

That’s what the Aspire Meetup Group is all about.

What Happens at a Meetup?

These meetups are super relaxed. No rigid schedules or expectations. Just  relaxed, open-ended play in our big indoor sandboxes, cozy corners for quieter moments, and the gentle hum of community forming all around you.

For Kids:

  • Sensory sand play (digging, pouring, building)
  • Soft lighting & low noise for comfort
  • Optional group activities (storytime, songs)

For Parents & Caregivers:

  • Chat with others who “get it”
  • Share struggles, wins, and tips
  • No pressure—stay as long as you like

No one is watching the clock or judging your parenting. Stay for a little while or the full time—it’s completely up to you.

Why Sensory Play Matters

If your child is in Early Intervention, you’ve probably heard how crucial sensory play is. Sand is an amazing tool for this kind of development. It’s soft and calming—perfect for little hands and growing minds.

During sand play, children:

  • Strengthen fine motor skills by scooping, pouring, and digging
  • Learn cause and effect by building and experimenting
  • Build early language and social skills
  • Regulate their bodies and minds through soothing tactile experiences

But perhaps most importantly, they get to feel in control of their environment—at a pace that feels good to them.

This Space Is for YOU, Too

While your child explores, we hope you’ll take a breath, relax, and connect with other families in the same boat. Parenting a child with developmental needs can be beautiful and rewarding—but let’s be honest, it can also be isolating.

The Aspire Meetup Group gives you the chance to:

  • Talk openly with parents on a similar journey.
  • Celebrate small wins without explanation.
  • Take a breath while your child plays safely.

You don’t need to show up as the “perfect parent.” Just bring yourself and your child. That’s more than enough.

What’s Next?

We hope the Aspire Meetup Group becomes more than just a playdate. Our vision is to grow it into a true community space—where trust is built, friendships form, and families find a soft place to land.

As we grow, we’re excited to introduce new opportunities that support both children and caregivers, including:

  • Guest speakers and experts – from therapists to child development specialists
  • Themed playdays – seasonal activities, creative workshops, and hands-on fun
  • Take-home resources – helpful play ideas and parenting tips to extend the experience at home
  • Parent-led Q&As or mini workshops – a chance to learn, ask questions, and support one another

Everything we do will be rooted in one goal: supporting families like yours in a way that feels warm, welcoming, and real.

You’re Not Alone—Let’s Grow Together

If there’s one message we hope you take away from all of this, it’s this: You are not alone.

There’s a community of families out there walking a similar path, and there’s strength in finding each other. Whether you’re a new parent still learning the ropes or a seasoned Early Intervention pro, your story is valid—and there’s a place for you here.

Let’s learn, connect, and play—your story matters here.
